Who needs a new set of wheels? Do you have good attendance? The local Masonic Lodge is sponsoring an attendance giveaway for the month of March. Any third grader who has the highest/perfect attendance will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of these awesome bicycles. All you have to do is show up to school for a chance to win. We will draw for the winner on March 31st and celebrate one boy and one girl winner with a pizza party for the class.

Whether it’s walking the hallways to make sure our building is safe and secure, giving students high-5s as they pass by or helping in a number of other ways in our school, Mr. Joel goes above and beyond to keep our school safe and build positive relationships with our students and staff. We celebrate him not just on National School Resource Officer Day, but every day! Thank you, Mr. Joel, for all you do! We are beyond thankful to have you and your expertise at LeGrande!

In lieu of a newsletter this week, I am just sharing a few reminders for tomorrow. Also, don't forget, we delayed our celebration of the 100th day dress ups until we returned. So wear your 100th day shirts or dress like you are 100 years old.

Last week's newsletter can be found here: https://view.gogipper.com/page/3851244

Legrande's Middle School Academic Team recently competed in the District Governor's Cup District 18 competition.

The Legrande Cardinals were honored with the Hume Sportsmanship Award, one of the most respected distinctions presented at the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition (KAAC) Governor’s Cup. This prestigious award recognizes the team that best exemplifies integrity, fairness, and genuine camaraderie throughout the competition.

Voted on by fellow teams, the Hume Sportsmanship Award reflects the admiration and respect of peers, celebrating those who compete with both excellence and empathy. The Legrande Cardinals’ positive spirit, encouragement of others, and unwavering commitment to fair play set them apart as true ambassadors of sportsmanship.

This recognition stands as a testament to the team’s character, teamwork, and dedication—not only to academic success but also to fostering a supportive and respectful competitive environment.

Overall, our team placed third in quick recall and third in FPS (Future Problem Solving). Not only did we commit as a team to the top rankings, but we had several team members place individually in specific subjects; those students were:

-Madison Kinslow: 3rd place Language Arts
-Walker Froedge: 5th place Social Studies
-Xavier Vance: 5th place Science

Those students placing individually will be competing later this month in regional competition. Good luck Legrande Cardinals!

Each year our FRYSC (Family Resource and Youth Service Center) solicits input from the parents and community on how to better serve our school (both students and families) and community. Please take a few moments to compete this survey linked below to give us feedback on how to better help our people. Thanks in advance for your time.

What would be do without our board members? We appreciate everything all of our board members do for our district on a daily basis, but we hold a special place in our hearts for our "Aunt Annie." Andrea has always had a servant's heart, so this role as our board member fits her perfectly. For over two decades Andrea has served Legrande School by reading to classes or volunteering her time beginning when her mother-in-law was an employee here. Still to this day, she can be found making cookies for classes, delivering snacks, serving food, working alongside our PTA, handing out treats or giving out visitor passes to parents. You can always find her working to serve the students and families of not just Legrande, but all of Hart County. Thank you, Andrea, for all you do!
